I have a ginormous coupon binder. (Is it weird that my spellcheck didn't underline 'ginormous'? Is that a real word now? Awesome.) She's a big girl, as you've seen. And opening that big girl takes real dedication and a B12 shot. I am on a few coupon trains so I get clipped coupons a few times a week and it's not possible for me to drop everything and wrestle with Sheila. (That's the binder's name. Sheila.) So I had to think of an in-between location for my coupons to stay while they were waiting to go home. Coupon purgatory, if you will. (I'm not a religious person, so I have no idea if that was offensive to anyone. If it was, I'm sorry. My stupidity will most likely offend you again, so I apologize for my future stupidity too.)
I went to Michael's (my home away from home... if they don't see me for a few days, they start to worry) and found a pretty blue box for photos. I had more of the scrapbook paper I used on my coupon clipboard, and I made this:
I just loooooove that paper. And the great thing about it is, I'll be tired of it in a few months. No, wait... that's not a great thing. Nevermind. I cut out some little shapes for the sides too:
I don't have a Cricut or a Silhouette. I cut them out by hand. I'm that dedicated to the craft of crafting. But if anyone wants to give me either a Cricut or a Silhouette, send me a message and I'll take it. For realsies. :)
I made little divider cards for each section of the binder. In hindsight, I should have made the cards staggered so I could see more than one group at a time, but I'm sort of stupid like that. And I'm not in the mood to cut all of them again. *sigh* Slight imperfections make me who I am, I suppose.
After using the box for a bit, I added a divider in the front. I get lots of clipped coupons, as I said, but I don't always have the few minutes to divide them. The dividers are now in the front of the box and there's an empty space for the clipped-but-waiting-to-be-sorted coupons. Like so:
That project cost less than $2 with a 40% off Michael's coupon. I love projects that are functional and cheap.
