All My Good Ideas Get Forgotten.

Does that ever happen to you? You have a million great ideas and then, when you finally sit down to make them a reality, you've forgotten them all. *sigh*

Before I get to this post, I know you're all wondering why the craft posts have slowed as of late.  Priscilla, you're saying, we don't see as many crafts on your blog as we used to... what gives?

What a delicious question.

I have been working on Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas projects.  Yeah.  I have a huge holiday extravaganza planned for the blog and there is no way I can wait until fall to start the projects... so I'm working on them now.  It's going to be awesome, and it starts October 1st, so I've been really busy with that.  But I've got some other stuff lined up until then, never you fear.  On with today's post!

I have had these printable magnet sheets for months now, with the intention of making some magnets for my fridge. I had eleventy thousand ideas for what to put on them, I just never sat down and made them. So I decided to just do it. And once I did, I promptly forgot what it was I was going to make. I needed a frame for my monthly menu though, so I decided to do that, and fill in the middle of the sheet with some little clip art pictures for magnets.

Here's what I used:
I don't remember how much they cost, I bought them forever ago.  I don't think they were too expensive though, since I'm a total cheapskate.

I measured out the size frame I would need for my menu and traced it out. I had originally planned to print out a border onto the sheet, but my printer won't print outside the printable area... which is, evidently, the area in which I would have needed it to print.  So I did what any crafter would do... I mod podged it.  But first, I printed out some clip art onto the magnet sheet.
I printed out the kids' names and some words, along with a couple of little pictures.  Easy-schmeasy.  I cut them out and used my exacto knife to cut out the frame.
Once the frame was cut out, I used my favorite scrapbooking paper and mod podged it for my menu.
Love the mod podge.

Here's the before pic of the fridge. Not for the squeamish:
Holy moly.  And here's the after:
It's just of the top... the bottom is still the same.  I'll get to it eventually.

Magnets! Who knew they could be so fun?!  OK, well they would have been more fun if I could remember what I bought them for in the first place.

  1. I hear ya - I had a really good idea. All I can remember now is that it involved styrofoam. The idea is truly gone completely. I can't wait to see all of your holiday crafts.

I love all the comments I get from you! Because of an insane amount of spam, I had to turn off anonymous commenting but I'd love it if you'd comment anyway!
