Here are my top five Christmas movies:
1) The Muppet Christmas Carol
Michael Caine is in this movie. With muppets. And he was AMAZING. There is a song near the end called "Almost Love" and this cynical blogger cries at it every time. I'm getting weepy just thinking about it. Also, Miss Piggy is Bob Crachit's wife and she is hilarious. You don't have to have kids around to watch this, it's that good. This is my favorite version of the Dickens classic. AND IT HAS MUPPETS.
2. Elf
It's really funny. And if you watch it enough times, you'll repeat the strange dialogue to your friends who will smile at you. I just like to smile, smiling's my favorite. See? I just did it.
3. Scrooged
Another version of the Dickens story, and it's got Bill Murray in it. I will always love Bill Murray. This movie is hysterical and I can recite every word.
4. A Christmas Story
You'll shoot your eye out. 'Nuff said.
5. Love Actually
OK, a little something you should know about me: I'm not a romantic at heart. To me, a date with flowers and romantic music is a bit too much. To win my heart, whisk my children away to a visit with grandma so I can have the house all to myself. My knees are weak just thinking about it.
That being said, this movie is adorable. Even the coldest-hearted cynic (like myself) will smile at every story. It's funny and sweet and warms my heart. Which, according to my husband, is near impossible.
What are your holiday favorites?

Yes, YES (favourite Christmas film), not seen 3 and 4, but yes to Love Actually too! :) Also, Miracle on 34th Street!
ReplyDeleteElf would have to be my favorite by far!
