I have a Christmas village. It's made by a company called Dept. 56... it's the 'Christmas in the City' series... it is not cheap. I don't buy new pieces all the time or anything and I haven't even gotten a new piece in a couple of years, but in the interest of keepin' it real, I have to let you in on my dirty little secret.
I didn't have room for all my pieces this year, so I put out my favorites. Look at the happy little carriage riders with their pretty pony. They're taking a little snow-ride in front of the old Clockworks building.
The Chicago Water Tower, one of my first pieces. I've been there at Christmas and it's really pretty... so I had to have it for my little village.
The Chicago Museum of Art. There are little stone lions out front. Love it.
Aren't they cute? They're on their way to a masquerade ball. Are there a lot of holiday costume parties and I've just not been invited? Ouch.
It's the Cathedral of Saint Paul... it's by far the prettiest piece.
This one is my favorite. It's a doctor's office... it's got a fire escape on the side. I love it bunches.
I know I'm not the only one with a Christmas Village... if you have one, it's your duty to come clean. SHOW YOURSELVES! :)

Never heard of a Christmas village before but it's very cute. And you have St. Paul's! :)
ReplyDeleteI love our Christmas village! But you're right, they are expensive! But I don't care! I love lighting it up and putting it out every year and VERY slowly adding a new piece every few years
ReplyDeleteLovely! I do like this company for Christmas villages. My local boutique carries it. Your collection, what you've shown, is awesome, you have great taste. One of these days I may start one, or maybe a Halloween village. . .
