Easy Felt Shamrocks

Top 'o the morning to ya!

That's all the Irish I know.  I'm aware that Irish folks speak English... I'm just trying to be funny.  Explaining your jokes makes them not funny.  I am not off to a good start here.  Also, this craft is a four-leafed clover, but I'm calling it a shamrock... which will get me in some hot water with certain people.  I'm staying true to my rebellious nature and calling them shamrocks. LET THE INTERNET BRAWLING BEGIN.

I found this craft on Pinterest, here.  It's from the blog Paper and Ink... sooo easy!

I found some green felt in the never-ending stash of felt I have accumulated lo these many years, and cut out this shape...

My oldest son informed me that these look vaguely like four people's rumps.  Seven year olds... these are the things they find funny.

I sewed through the bottoms of the rump-shaped felt...

And then pulled tight... it's just that simple.  Once you pull the thread tight and tie the ends together, it looks like this:

Is that the cutest thing ever?! Adorbs.  That's how the cool kids say 'adorable'.  Again though, if I explain it, I'm not cool.  This could be my worst blog post ever.

I added it to my DIY Felt Wreath for a little shamrock awesomeness...

I thought this was cute... and then I was all, 'wait, shamrocks are in bunches, right?' and then I was all, 'no way, I have to fix this' and then I was all, 'WHY ARE YOU TALKING LIKE THAT?'

There is some question about my mental health.

Anyhoo, here's the wreath with the shamrocks in bunches:

I have no idea which one looks better.  I blame the loss of an hour this weekend.

  9. Very very cute! Hey, it's late in the afternoon OF St. Patrick's Day and I bought some green felt to make some shamrocks and then didn't do anything with it...I think your little rump-shaped shamrocks are exactly what I needed to see. Your writing is very clever and witty (even if your children dont' think so.) I saw your post over a "Weekend Bloggy Reading".
