I became a mystery shopper. This is the wildest thing I've done since that time I added a half a shot of espresso to that frappuccino. Now THAT was a crazy afternoon.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with mystery shopping, you get assignments where you go to a store, make up a story, and let the employee do their job. Afterwards, you get to answer a survey about your experience and the employee's performance.
Oh, and they pay you. Awesome.
I had to evaluate servers at two different Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants. This was the highlight of my week. I've also 'shopped' some retail stores and since this is the most risky thing I do nowadays, I was convinced my cover was blown. Like, at one point I thought I should drop to the floor and bear-crawl out in a serpentine fashion. If your cover is blown, you get desperate.
Have any of you tried this? It's the most fun I have until I get back home and play Bejeweled Blitz.
Hee hee, I always imagine myself singing Mission Impossible when I think of mystery shopping. I've never done it but it would be fun!

Hi Kim! I work with a company called Bestmark. The website is bestmark.com... they are pretty great so far! They pay every two weeks, so I get a check in the mail on a regular basis and I've heard that other mystery shop companies sometimes do it a bit differently. Check it out if you're interested!

ReplyDeleteYou will have to share who you mystery shop from! I've always been super interested in it but I'm far too scared of schemes or being misinformed. By the way, I know I'm probably very late but I love the new layout!
