A Basket For Under Three Dollars

Thank goodness for garage sale season.

My mom went to a garage sale and found this basket for $0.25.

A quarter.  You've gotta love it when people don't see the potential of their crap.

I bought some Krylon spray paint at Michael's on clearance for $2.  Every so often, they'll clearance out the colors that they think no one wants... this particular color was called 'Celery'.  Delicious.

A few coats of spray paint and I had a fresh basket.  I put my yarn in it.  And it's lovely.

Have you found anything good at a garage sale yet this season?

  1. I found a fantastic spinning globe on a stand for $2. It wobbled on the stand--so I brought it home an tightened the screws. Now it doesn't! I plan on painting the stand cream colored and putting it in my living room.

  2. What a great deal. I have this fear of going to garage sales. I feel strange looking at people's things, while they are standing right there. I need a garage sale friend to go with me. I know I am missing out on some GREAT deals.

I love all the comments I get from you! Because of an insane amount of spam, I had to turn off anonymous commenting but I'd love it if you'd comment anyway!
