Totally a rhetorical question as the answer seems fairly obvious given the spoiler-alert post title.
I bought some thumbtacks from the dollar store... for a dollar. Which is sort of a given, but every time I'm there someone always asks the cashier how much something is. It's a dollar. It's always a dollar.
Anyhoo, I spent countless minutes poking these little thumbtacks through some posterboard. I love mindless tasks that let me watch reality TV while completing them. Once that was done, I spray painted them with more of my clearanced "Celery" colored spray paint that I used on my $0.25 basket.
A couple of coats later, I left the thumbtacks to dry while I hole-punched some scrapbook paper.
Once the thumbtacks were dry, I sat down in front of the TV and watched "Chronicle" while I mod-podged the paper onto the thumbtacks. I used my finger to mod podge, since these are way too tiny to use brushes on. It took me back to first grade when we would spill glue on our hands on purpose just so we could peel it off when it dried. Awesome.
By the end of the movie, I had a million little pretty thumbtacks. Maybe not exactly a million but it was a lot. More thumbtacks than I'll ever need, if I'm being honest. You know what? Since I've got all these thumbtacks, I'll just make a whole wall in my house out of cork board. The husband will be so pleased.
Mod Podged thumbtacks, in action!

Let me get right to the point, these are simply adorable.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I don't know if I have the patience to stick all those dots on there though! LOL Good job!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a simple and whimsical idea - I LOVE it!! I am truly having one of those "why didn't I think of that??" moments.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! And I definitely think part of the reason I love Mod Podge so much is because I can peel it off my hands later, so much fun!
ReplyDeleteCUTE CUTE CUTE!!! I want some! I wish I would have thought of doing this!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I just don't think I could put MP on each little tack head. Way to go girly.
ReplyDeleteYou continue to amaze me. I just don't know where all these ideas - and the patience needed - come from. You had me impressed with just painting them. When you started punching out scrapbook paper, my mouth actually fell open. I wish we lived closer ~ maybe you could rub off on me.
ReplyDeleteso...let me get this straight. you're saying everything's a dollar? as in one?
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteI've checked out a couple posts and already I wish we were friends! haha Love everything I've seen so far!
