My oldest son wanted an Angry Birds costume for Halloween this year. So this thrifty girl looks them up online... and discovers that they cost $65 plus shipping.
I awoke hours later, in a daze.
$65? For felt and poly-fill? I THINK NOT.
I got some kraft paper from the dollar store and drew out the angry birds face... I made it the right size for my oldest child and then I gathered all the felt I could find. I started in the middle of the kraft paper and used it like a template, cutting out felt as I went. And then, I pinned it all together.
At this point in the project, as I was diligently pinning felt to an Angry Birds face, I tried to make peace with the absurdity of my life.
After it was all pinned, I started sewing. I went from the inside out, starting with the middle of the eye.
Once I had the face, I sewed holes for the face and arms... I used an old sheet as lining and sewed all the way around and then I cut out the holes and stuffed it up. I added some foam board covered in felt for the little feather at the top. For the love of all that is crafty, I made an Angry Bird.
That's my youngest son. He wanted to wear it. And then he didn't want to take it off. Criminy.

Cute idea. We're dressing up as Angry Birds for Halloween at my office and still trying to figure out how to make the costume. Thanks for the pattern!
